Expert Insight: LUX* Mauritius

25847_412904442322_2577197_nOur experts have traversed the globe looking for the best holidays and destinations. Tony Camerota, our Indian Ocean & Middle East Product Manager travelled to Mauritius to spend time at the LUX* Resorts & Hotels on the island in June:

Six whole days on the paradise island of Mauritius to experience all that the stunning LUX* Resorts & Hotels have to offer; fantastic. I was off to an excellent start with British Airways Club World flatbed service – 12 hours absolutely flies by (do you see what I did there?). I would always recommend paying that little bit extra on these long haul flights. You get a great night’s sleep and are ready for your holiday as soon as you touch down.

20150605_121419Some of the highlights and ‘must do’s’ when you’re on this magnificent island include an early morning speedboat trip to see dolphins, a bicycle tour to visit a local village, a treasure hunt on the Ile Des Deux Cocos, a culinary treasure hunt at Merville beach, yoga and spa treatments, snorkelling and golf lessons (to name but a few!).

Every night can be as different as you make it with activities including wine tasting, poker, pool parties, star gazing or watching a movie on a giant cinema screen on the beach.

LUX* Resorts and Hotels have truly incredible properties dotted around the island that accommodate for all tastes for couples and families alike. They offer a different type of luxury holiday concept; by encouraging guests to escape from the normal trappings and routine of normal life. You may come across a secret bar, experience an impromptu treasure hunt or spend an evening watching a film on the beach.

LUX* Grande Gaube is located on a secluded bay with sweeping views of the ocean and mountains. There is an adults-only section here, plus five restaurants & three swimming pools.

LUX* Belle Mare is located on the east coast and was recently renovated by celebrity Dragon’s Den designer Kelly Hoppen.

LUX* Le Morne lies at the foot of Le Morne Mountain with dazzling views of the ocean on the quieter west side of the island.

Tamassa is an all-inclusive resort in Bel Ombre surrounded by mountains, sugar cane fields and crystal clear waters.

Merville Beach
is just a stone’s throw away from Grand Baie. This comfortable resort is in a stunning setting with pristine white beaches.

I’m not sure why but this website is loading extremely slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a problem on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.
