Travel Image of the Week: St. Kitts

St. Kitts is a small, unspoilt Caribbean island, not too far from Antigua. The scenery is breathtaking, the food is fantastic and the nightlife on offer varies from traditional carnival dances to contemporary cocktail bars. You’re constantly surrounded by natural beauty in St. Kitts, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to have the trip of a lifetime.

This photo was taken above Black Rocks, a rock formation on the north-eastern coast and an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the island. If you take the time to explore, you’ll be rewarded with fantastic views across the Atlantic. We think this shot perfectly captures the intriguing, laid-back surroundings of the area.

The Photographer:

Travel blogger, Zoë Dawes, was exploring the island when she took this shot. According to her, the bar is one in a group of shacks which mainly open when the cruise tours come in – kind of an original pop-up bar! Zoë is the brains behind The Quirky Traveller, a blog which hosts a collection of diverse articles on interesting places to see in the UK and abroad.

Travel is a key focus in her life; as she says in her blog, “Meeting new people, discovering fascinating cultures, eating strange foods and seeing curious customs has fuelled my fascination with the breadth and depth of experiences that travel gifts us.”
